Why?

I firmly believe that the English language Indian mass media (both print and electronic) constitutes a clear and present danger to national security. They are mostly negative in their attitude, leftist leaning (and I equate leftist leaning with being anti-India), pseudo-liberal, pseudo secular and frivolous for the most part. They present dumbed down articles, essays and editorials masquerading as news. Nationalism and patriotism is a concept alien to them. Since they have a wide reach among the English speaking audience in India, they have a huge amount of power to manipulate and shape public opinion on a wide variety of topics. In my view, they are clearly misusing this power.

They say that politics is the last refuge of scoundrels. It seems to me that journalism is the last refuge of incompetents, morons and just plain idiots in India. I can recollect too many articles that lacked any semblance of logic, good taste and coherence to have any other opinion.

Make no mistake, there are a few good ones. Not necessarily those that agree with my politics, religious beliefs or viewpoints, but those who put across their points logically, concisely and clearly and stand by their beliefs.

I call the English language Indian mass media Desi Dork Media (DDM) which I feel suits them to a T.

In this blog, as time and mood permits, I hope to point out why I feel as I do.

I hope to point out the reasons that make them the scum they are.
